Samsung unveiled its third device with a folding screen earlier this month, the Galaxy Z Fold2 5G, a follow up to the original Galaxy Fold, and the premium smartphone is now available to pre-order in India for ₹1,49,999.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold2 5G has a more refined design, a much larger 6.2in display on the front, a larger 7.6in folding display and improved cameras on the back.
Samsung has significantly thinned down the size of the Z Fold2 5G’s bezels, increasing the ratio of usable screen real estate while simultaneously beefing up its hinge and adding a slightly tapered design around the edges of the phone.
Samsung said it had been “listening to user feedback on the most requested upgrades and new features” when building the new version of its folding phone.
On the inside, the Z Fold2 5G comes with a Snapdragon 865+ processor, 12GB of RAM, and up to 512GB of storage. Along with full support for 5G connectivity, the Z Fold2 5G also comes with a 4,500mAh battery, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, a triple camera module in back, an upgraded camera in front, and a new punch-hole selfie camera on the inside that takes up significantly less space than the massive notch on the original Fold.
The Z Fold2 5G comes with the usual USB-C port on the bottom, though Samsung hasn’t included a headphone jack or stylus support, the latter of which has been high up on users wish list as it would transform the Galaxy Z Fold2 5G into a Foldable Galaxy Note (kind of).

Galaxy Z Fold 2 5G will be available to pre-order starting September 14 in Mystic Black and Mystic Bronze colours via Samsung.com and leading retail stores across the country. However, the company hasn’t confirmed when the phone will actually be available.
Those who pre-order the Galaxy Z Fold 2 5G will get a free YouTube Premium subscription for four months and a 22% discount on a Microsoft Office 365 subscription that entitles a customer to avail up to 6TB of additional cloud storage along with other benefits.
