The Motorola Razr 5G, Motorola’s latest folding phone with 5G connectivity, is now available to pre-order from O2,
Motorola Razr 5G has a Snapdragon 765G chipset, 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. On the front of the closed phone it has a 2.7″ outer screen gOLED with 800 x 600 resolution. Meanwhile, on the inside of the open phone it has a 6.2″ pOLED screen with 876 x 2,142 resolution.
The Motorola Razr 5G has a water repellant design, a 2,800mAh battery, offers support for 15W charging and runs Android 10. Interestingly, more apps will now work on the external screen – such as the camera, messages, calculator, Google Home, YouTube and more. It also offers support for gesture navigation as well.
Quick View displayThe 2.7-inch touch screen Quick View display that appears when the Razr 5G is closed offers access to an array of features. A navigation bar mimics the gestures found in Android 10, so you can get to the home screen by swiping up on the display.
Swiping right from the home screen triggers the camera, while swiping left takes you to the new app tray where you’ll find your favourite apps. Swiping left again brings up shortcuts where you can call or text specific contacts.
The new display offers a full keyboard, so you can type your messages without having to open your phone. But it also supports speech-to-text, so you can simply dictate what you want to say. If you’re navigating in the car, the screen displays turn-by-turn directions from Google Maps.
From the Quick View display, the phone’s built-in NFC technology also allows you to use Google Pay to pay for items in stores and share pictures, videos, and other content with nearby devices.
The Quick View display includes easy access to eight preselected apps: Camera, Messages, Calculator, Keep, Google News, Google Home, and YouTube. But you can customize the feature so that the apps of your choice run on the display with your phone closed.
External displayWhen opened, the Razr offers a 6.2-inch Flex View display touch screen. The hinge design that lets you open and close the phone uses a zero gap closure designed to protect the internal screen. To further protect the phone, the display comes with a special coating to guard against scratches. A water repellent barrier inside the phone defends it against rain and spills
The Motorola Razr 5G is available on a range of O2 custom plan tariffs, starting from £56.31 per month for 3GB data with a £30 upfront payment.
Customers that purchase the device can claim a premium lifestyle bundle worth £329.98. Available until the 21st October, the gift includes a Lenovo Tab M10 Plus with smart charging dock and Lenovo Yoga active noise cancellation headphones.
