In an effort to help them transition away from passwords, Microsoft has announced that biometric features will be part of the upcoming Windows 10 operating system. Windows 10 will support the Fast Identification Online (FIDO) security system by using biometric authentication.
Apple has added  two factor authentication for iMessage and FaceTime. Previously, users that had two-factor enabled could log in to iMessage or FaceTime without requiring the time sensitive codes that should be required.
